Standard definition films, which was the norm till now, are gradually being replaced by high definition films, and more and more production houses are opting to make movies hd. High definition video refers to videos with a higher resolution than the videos of standard definition. Currently, HD videos are classified as 1280X720, which also known as 720p, or 1920X1080, is also called 1080p. Being higher in resolutions, these HD videos are clearer making it a preferred choice for those who buy HDTV’s. The manufacturers of TV are also seeing HD videos as the technology of the future and are hence investing in its research and technology. There are already manufacturers who have made HDTV, and going by the response of the customers, the day is not far of when a majority of the TV’s will be HDTV.
Film makers have also realized the importance of HDTV and are in for movies hd which is not surprising as they know that after a run in theaters, films are seen on DVD’s, and if they make movies hd, more customers will opt to see them at home. HD is the technology of the future, but already many film makers are opting for HD keeping in mind the choice of the audiences. They know that many customers prefer to watch movies on their computers and since all computers are capable of HD, films that are made in HD appear to have an edge over those that are made in standard definition. The graphic details in any high definition video are significantly more than the standard definition mode. This is why those film makers who are making films in the genre of action and sci-fi are more interested in high definition than those who make family dramas or romantic movies. It is obvious then that in the coming time, we will see all movies being made in HD.
